Marks & Spencer and SandpiperCI have announced the opening of a new 2,200 sq ft Foodhall at Liberty Wharf. The new store will cater for residents in the Waterfront area and workers locating to the new International Finance Centre and Esplanade business district.

The new Foodhall will create 10 new job roles and is the latest development at M&S Liberty Wharf, which introduced seven-day shopping at a new and improved Home store earlier this year.

The newly styled Home store has paved the way for the new, conveniently located food outlet which will bring a wider range of Marks & Spencer’s Food to the Waterfront district seven days a week. The range will include M&S’s popular chilled food, sandwiches and salads, confectionery, soft drinks, wines, beers and spirits, as well as an in-store bakery offering a range of freshly baked specialty breads, pastries, cakes, and coffee-to-go.

Stephen Forrester, Managing Director, Marks & Spencer Jersey said: “This significant investment will create 10 new job roles and a useful facility to nearby residents and workers newly located to the Waterfront area. St Helier customers will also now be able to conveniently shop for their favourite M&S food and drink on Sundays as well as the rest of the week.”

James Harvey, Head of International Franchise, Marks & Spencer said: “Working together with SandpiperCI, we are able to offer customers in Jersey the best of Marks & Spencer across Food and Clothing & Home, and the new Foodhall at Liberty Wharf is no exception. It will showcase the very best of Marks & Spencer’s unique, innovative, great quality Food and provide greater choice and convenience for our loyal customers in Jersey.”

Work began this week to construct the new Liberty Wharf food hall which is expected to open this autumn.
